Wow, someone to answer that. 5 000 ??? As a rookie trader looking for micro accounts, that's way ahead the kind of commitment I can handle.

about currencies

Hi. Thank you for your advices. I would like to know how to trade commodities in Forex, in fact I would like to know if this fx market involves more than currencies because it may be a guide to know how and when I should invest. It seems traders must be informed about commodities from each currency country and especially know that commodity situation. I can’t find commodities options to trade in my MT4 platform. I’m on the right way? Thanks, Adelin

Hi adelin2,

The MT4 platform allows you to trade currencies, but some of the currencies are affected by commodity prices. The CAD, AUD, and NZD are often referred to as commodity currencies because of their countries dependence on the export of commodities for income. Visit the USD/CAD forum and AUD/USD and NZD/USD forum for more information on how they relate to commodities.

Ok Jason, it’s an advice for me too because I was wondering how it works in Forex, how to trade with commodities. Now, I’ll evaluate if my platform offers something related with this kind of subjects. Thanks, Jess

then, what a trader has to manage is how commodities affect the markets. I’ll try to find some particular news about oil r gold for example, then I’ll have a look at the chart at the moment of the new to know what’s going on about tendencies. Adelin

I'm interested in minimum and recommended hardware requirements for MT4.

My home laptop will have no problems dealing with the application, but I'm after buying a small portable to take to work - will a "netbook" handle running the application (no backtesting, just running a basic EA and the core application), or do I need something more powerful?

Cheers,

David.

I would like to know if your MT4 is going to support the FAP Turbo ea, will the spreads be the same as original platform?

Netbook

David, any netbook with Intel Atom processor, 1 gig ram, and WinXP will work. I use the Asus EeeBox mounted behind on a LCD monitor as my desk. The EeeBox is a netbox without the screen.

Gary,

You can use the FAP Turbo ea with FXCM's MT4, as well as any other expert advisors. The spreads are the same as in the FX Trade Station II. Our MT4 uses no dealing desk execution so scalping EA's are welcome on the platform.

Another note: Please make sure that any expert advisor you use is compatible with fractional pips. FXCM quotes rates to 5 decimals (3 decimals on JPY pairs) for fractional pips.
